Privacy Policy
Last updated October 3, 2026
Golf-Trip is made by Recreational Software (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the Golf-Trip apps for iOS and Android and the web app at golf-trip.app collect, why, and the choices you have. We don’t sell your personal information.
Information you give us
- Account: your email address and password. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see them.
- Profile: your name and anything else you choose to add, such as a profile photo, phone number, gender, bio and GHIN number.
- Trips: the trips you create or join, including itineraries, rounds, scores, handicaps, games, comments and photos.
- Invitations: when you invite someone, the name and email address you enter for them, so we can send the invitation.
Information collected automatically
- Push notifications: if you allow notifications, a device token so we can send trip alerts. You can turn notifications off in Settings.
- Purchases: a record of what you bought (product, date, store and transaction ID) so we can unlock it. We never receive your card or payment details.
- Advertising: if your account shows ads, Google AdMob may collect device information to serve and measure ads. See “Ads” below.
We don’t collect your location, your contacts or analytics on how you use the app.
How we use it
- To run the app: your account, trips, scoring, games and photo sharing.
- To send trip invitations, notifications and account emails such as verification.
- To unlock trips and features you purchase, and to handle refunds.
- To show ads to accounts that haven’t removed them.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
Who can see your information
Golf-Trip is built for sharing with your group. People on a trip with you can see your name, profile photo and the profile details you add, along with the trip’s scores, comments and photos.
Services we use
We share information only with the providers that run parts of Golf-Trip for us:
- Google Firebase (accounts, database, file storage, notifications), hosted in the United States.
- RevenueCat to process purchases, together with Apple, Google Play and Stripe (web), which take payment.
- Google AdMob for ads in the mobile apps.
- Brevo to deliver invitation emails.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
Ads
The mobile apps show occasional ads in the trip list, unless you purchase Remove Ads. Where required (for example in the EU, UK and Switzerland) we ask for your consent before ads are personalized, and you can change your choice at any time under Settings → Privacy Choices. In US states with privacy laws, such as California, you can use the same Privacy Choices setting to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising. On iOS we don’t ask for permission to track you across other companies’ apps. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Sponsored tiles in the app are simple links; tapping one opens the sponsor’s website, which has its own privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing us. When you do, we delete your account, profile and profile photo. Trips you own pass to another member with an account, or are deleted if no one else on the trip has one, along with its posts and photos. On trips you shared with others, your name, scores, posts and photos remain so the trip stays intact for the group, but they’re no longer linked to any account. You can delete individual posts or photos before deleting your account, or ask us to. We keep purchase records as needed for accounting, tax and refund handling.
Your rights
You can view and edit your profile in the app at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your information, to correct or delete it, or to object to how we use it. Email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections and stored with Google Firebase, which encrypts data at rest. Access to trip data is limited to the people on the trip.
Children
Golf-Trip isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date above, and for significant changes we’ll let you know in the app.
